"Where every pitch has a purpose."
Andy Bair , a Westminster, Maryland based pitching instructor that can help you or your son to become an accomplished pitcher.
"Each boy has a different ability level, and my goal is to help each reach his pitching potential. I have been helping boys in Central Maryland and Southern Pennsylvania to become pitchers since 2002 at my Andy Bair Pitching academy. Currently I have students pitching in Baltimore, Carroll and Howard county high schools, Loyola Blakefield and also on various Metro, MABA travel and tournament baseball teams."
Philosophy
Pitching is much more than just using arm strength. And you don't have to strikeout every batter. Learn to keep the ball low (ground balls are good). Keep the ball in the park. Keep the batters off balance. Field your postion!
Process
After and initial evaluation, I will lead you through the following:
- Balance - keeps your body in a rythym
- Grip - how to hold a ball to throw a curve, change up, 2 & 4 seam fast ball
- Arm slot - throw all pitches using the same motion
- Rotation - get those hips into the pitch
- Finish - be ready to field your postion
- Tips - while we are working, we will be talking about " situational pitching". That is: when to throw what, what to watch for in each batter.
- Typically we will throw 65 pitches during a session.
